Since this is a huge area for tourism, there are many rentals available. Thinking long term, however, will yield some amazing properties that include two bedroom homes and condos. Larger luxury properties with up to five bedrooms are available also. Unique single-family homes make up many neighborhoods, along with villas and townhouses.

The villa communities, like Golf Villas and the Resort Villas, have various price ranges and sizes to choose from, allowing for more customization when searching for homes for sale. Three unit townhouses comprise the Clearwater Bay, Heron Bay, and Egret Run communities.

There are a healthy mix of private and public schools in Barefoot Resort real estate. Cathedral Hall, Chabad Academy, Christian Academy, and Life Christian Academy are all private schools that offer a wonderful curriculum that is designed to help guide students toward a successful future. Cathedral Hall specifically provides education for all grades, K-12. In the high school grades personalized programs allow students to work on their particular areas of interest.

The public school district, Horry County Schools, is the third largest district in South Carolina. Barefoot Resort public schools within that district are the Myrtle Beach Elementary, Intermediate, Middle, and High Schools. They also have access to Myrtle Beach Primary School on 29th Avenue, which prides itself on helping kids succeed culturally as well as academically.

Given that this is such a high profile destination for tourists, the tourism industry is easily one of the strongest portions of the local economy. Hotels, restaurants, and retail centers provide services to the millions of tourists that trek through the communities every year.

North Kings Highway runs along the coastline, connecting you to North Myrtle Beach, Atlantic Beach, and Dunes Golf Course. Route 31, Carolina Bays Parkway, will take you toward Forestbrook and Socastee, or up to intersect with the Conway Bypass and on into the mainland part of the state.

Over two hundred and fifty golf courses are in and around Myrtle Beach, with Barefoot Resort being right in the middle of it all. The Norman Course at Barefoot in particular is right along the Intracoastal Waterway. The course was designed to work naturally with the landscape and original fauna. Fairways run right up to the sand! It’s a Par 72 with around 7,200 yards to get through, so grab your clubs and take up the challenge!

The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, opened in 2010, is right around the corner and has already been recognized by National Geographic Society as the third best boardwalk in the country. It was also recognized by Travel + Leisure Magazine as one of the best boards in the United States. It’s jam packed with lots of shopping, food, rides, games, and more. People regularly visit to fish off the piers, or go biking along the boardwalk.
